1. Who you are contracting with
These terms are an agreement between you and The Freelancer Guide ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
2. The service
The Freelancer Guide is a paid, member-supported platform for people building an independent career online. It provides a curriculum, AI tools, and tracking features for your own pipeline, invoices and clients.
We are not a marketplace and not an agency. We do not find you clients, do not take a commission, and are never a party to any agreement between you and a client of yours. Money from your clients goes directly to you and never passes through us.
Public articles on the blog are free to read. The curriculum, AI tools and tracking features require an active subscription.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If the law where you live sets a higher age for entering a contract, that applies to you instead.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your e-mail address current — it is how we reach you about billing and about your account.
- One account per person. Do not share your login.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Payment processing. Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Prices. Prices are shown in euro, and the price you see is the total you pay.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you chose — until you cancel.
- Cancellation. Cancel at any time from your account page. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we retry it. If it keeps failing, access is suspended until the balance is settled.
- Price changes. If we change prices, your current price holds for the rest of your active subscription, and we tell you before any renewal at a new price.
5. Your right of withdrawal, and our refund
Your statutory right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The period ends 14 days from the day the contract is concluded.
If you are a consumer in Brazil, Art. 49 of the Consumer Defence Code gives you the right to withdraw within 7 days of subscribing, without giving any reason, because the contract was concluded away from business premises. Amounts paid are returned immediately.
To withdraw, tell us clearly that you have decided to withdraw — an e-mail to [email protected] is enough. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. To meet the deadline, it is enough that you send your message before the 14 days are up.
If you withdraw, we refund all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we are informed, using the same payment method you used.
Starting immediately
Because this is digital content and a digital service that you get access to right away, we ask you at checkout to expressly agree that we begin performance immediately, and to acknowledge that — in the EU — you thereby lose the statutory right of withdrawal once performance has begun. You do not have to agree. If you would rather keep the full 14-day right, tell us at [email protected] and we will hold your access until the period ends. In Brazil, the Art. 49 right is not affected by this agreement.
Our 14-day refund, either way
Regardless of the above, and regardless of whether you agreed to immediate access: if the membership is not right for you, ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment and we will give you one. No questions, no conditions. Write from your account e-mail address. This is our own promise and it sits on top of your legal rights, never in place of them.
Model withdrawal form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
To The Freelancer Guide, [email protected]:
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the supply of the following service:
Ordered on: __________ · Name: __________ · Address: __________
Signature (only if sent on paper): __________ · Date: __________
6. AI outputs are not professional advice
The AI features — Scam Analyzer, Proposal Workshop, Negotiation Rehearsal, Skill Gap Analyzer, Job Fit Scorer, Daily Coach, Weekly Review and Pipeline Assistant — generate suggestions from patterns in text. You are always interacting with software, never with a person, and the platform tells you so at the point of use.
These outputs are not legal, tax, financial, immigration or career advice. They can be confidently wrong. The Scam Analyzer in particular is a second opinion and not a verdict: it can miss a real scam and it can flag a legitimate client. Use your own judgement, and consult a qualified professional for anything that matters.
You are responsible for any decision you make after reading AI output, and for what you choose to type into these tools. Please do not paste other people's personal details — see the Privacy Policy.
7. No guarantee of outcomes
We make no promise about your earnings, your win rate, your conversion rate, or your success on any freelance platform. Nothing on this site is an income claim. What you get out of it depends on your skills, your market, and your effort.
8. Acceptable use and termination
Do not use the platform to spam or harass anyone, to scrape or resell the content, to share your account, to get around usage limits on the AI tools, or to break the law.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of what you paid.
You can close your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
9. Liability
The platform is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We are liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude. Nothing in these terms limits those.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for lost business — and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
If you are a consumer, you keep every right your national consumer law gives you. Nothing here takes those away.
10. Governing law and disputes
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country. In Brazil, that is guaranteed by Art. 101, I of the Consumer Defence Code.
Before going to court, please write to us — most things are quicker to fix by e-mail.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version stamp at the top changes when we do. If a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will tell you by e-mail or in the platform at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then if you do not accept it.
We record which version you accepted when you created your account. These terms are also available in Portuguese; if the two versions ever differ, the version in the language you signed up in prevails.
